Gillian Konst / President
Gillian comes originally from a small village in England, and has lived, worked, played and volunteered in Lynn Valley for over 20 years along with her husband and two sons. She has volunteered as a Cub leader, with the school’s PAC and in the classrooms, as team manager for her kids’ sports teams. She was a charter member and first chair for Friends of North Vancouver District Public Library and board member of the Lynn Valley Soccer Association. Gillian is the past programmer and events manager for The Mollie Nye House and was encouraged to join the Association by other board members. She enjoys working on the numerous community events presented by LVCA.
Suzanne Mazoret / Vice President
Suzanne Mazoret was born and raised in Vancouver and moved to Lynn Valley in 1982. She is retired from North Vancouver School District where she worked as a Human Resources Manager. She was invited to become a member of the Lynn Valley Community Association in 1998 after her involvement in the Lynn Valley OCP process that she attended as a representative of the DNV Parks Advisory Committee. Her interest in Parks continues as she holds the Member at Large position responsible for Parks and Trails. Every spring, she coordinates the LV Parks Project where volunteers work on a natural Lynn Valley Park or trail.
Shannon Epp / Treasurer
Shannon has lived in Lynn Valley since 2004 works in the community for the local RBC Royal Bank. She is a Financial Planner. Her and her husband did the Ascent for Alzheimer’s in 2008 when they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. They enjoy hiking and biking the local trails.
Lyle Craver / Secretary
Lyle has lived in Lynn Valley for 23 years and on the North Shore since 1958. He joined the Association in order to keep on top of community issues, and has a keen interest in District council planning and management issues. He has served on the following DNV appointed advisory committees: Alpine Reference Recreation Group, Citizen`s Budget and Finance, Community Services Advisory Committee. Lyle is also Secretary of The Chess Federation of Canada and the owner/manager of Capilano Rock and Gem. Lyle is LVCA’s observer at Council.
Stefanie Donohoe / Director at Large
Stefanie was born and raised in Victoria, B.C. but can proudly say she has now lived in Lynn Valley most of her life. Stefanie and her husband, Jeff work on the North Shore (primarily in Lynn Valley) and have raised their 3 children here. Prior to joining the LVCA, Stefanie was actively involved in the Upper Lynn PAC, Lynn Valley Soccer Association, Field Hockey Canada and with the Minor Hockey Association at the NSWC. Stefanie is thoroughly enjoying being a part of LVCA and looks at it as a way to “give back” to the community she works and lives in.
Cathy Kuzel / Director at Large
Cathy has been an active member of this vibrant Lynn Valley community for over 30 years. Raising a family, building a business and leading a growing women’s organization has made for great opportunities to connect with others. A dynamic speaker, author and business development strategist, In addition to her own consulting practice, she is the Sales Expert at Small Business B.C. She has developed and implemented strategic sales and marketing programs with proven success rates for entrepreneurs, small to mid-size companies and organizations of 150+ members and brings these skill sets to LVCA so that they can contribute to fostering and developing our community pride and to encourage involvement in neighbourhood/community development.
Betty Forbes / Director at Large
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Betty has a West Coast soul and has called Lynn Valley home since 1979.
A community advocate, Betty is also a Director on the NVCAN Board, a member on the Official Community Plan Implementation Monitoring Committee, Chairperson of Community Communications Sub-Committee, and member for Save Our Shores. A significant career in the Financial sector, solopreneurship, she is a “workplace graduate”, centering her energies on community and leadership. A mother of two sons and pet parent to two dogs (one a recent rescue) and a cat, Betty enjoys the adventure of travel, broadening her horizons, widening her social circles and really enjoys coming home to Lynn Valley.
John Harvey / Director at Large
John and his family emigrated to North Vancouver from Essex, UK in 1987. Initially renting, he and his wife Charmaine purchased a home in Lynn Valley in 1990. Due to Charmaine previously being a professional dancer and progressing to be an ISTD Fellow and Dance Examiner, John and Charmaine (N) with two other parties: Sharon (R) and Francine (B), were founding members of the RNB Dance and Theatre Arts, a major North Shore Dance School located in Lynn Valley. The Dance school has now been in existence for over 28 years and been able to give employment to numerous teachers over the years. John has run for municipal Council and school board, been a past North Vancouver Community Arts Council vice president, served as a Director for 5 years on the North Shore Community Foundation, and been a past Executive Director of the North Vancouver Lawn Bowls Club
