We are so excited to tell you that we’ve done it again and SOLD OUT of our available trees for this year!
And we couldn’t have done it without your sponsorship. With everything still in a cautionary holding pattern right now including our Lighting Ceremony, (maybe next year!) we weren’t sure what to expect but all of you rose to the occasion and we will have an amazing display that’s going to spread some Christmas Magic and hopefully bring a smile in a otherwise challenging time.
Please join us for TWO Annual General Meetings on Thursday November 4th at 7pm via Zoom.
Our 2019/20 AGM was postponed due to COVID and the recommendations of the Vancouver Health Authority. We had hoped to meet in person however that was put on hold with subsequent ‘waves’ and our concern for the safety of our members and community.
While are disappointed not to be able to meet in person., the LVCA Board agreed that the online option is currently the safest for all our members.
The 2019/20 AGM will take place on Thursday November 4th at 7pm, via Zoom.
Following the adjournment of this AGM, we will hold the 2020/21 AGM.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to attend and a link will be sent to you shortly before the meeting.

Well, the pandemic made things challenging last year, but with help of volunteers, some creative thinking and the support from our community, we were able to install eighty (yes, 80!) decorated Christmas trees for the 10th Annual Parade of Trees in December 2020.
Lynn Valley Village was once again transformed into an illuminated forest of beautifully decorated trees and for the first time, we expanded onto the new plaza in front of Starbucks at Lynn Valley Centre where decorated trees added that touch of Christmas spirit.
We are very grateful to all the businesses, clubs, churches, organizations, families, individuals and schools who continue to support this event and bring a little magic to our community each year.
We’re looking for members in our community who have an hour or two to give in helping setup and take down. If this is you, or you’d like more information, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Tree Volunteer”
During the month of January of this year, LVCA learned that there was an urgent need for warm clothes and blankets for people who were experiencing homelessness in Lynn Valley and we asked for your help.
The response was amazing!
You donated hundreds of bags and boxes of gloves, hats, socks, coats and blankets! Your donations helped not just those in our immediate neighbourhood, but people in need everywhere on the North Shore.
Unfortunately, there are people that still need our help.
LVCA will be launching a second “Make a Difference” campaign in January 2022 and we will be working with The Lookout Housing and Health Society to determine how we can assist.
Stay tuned for details!.

If you are looking for a walk close to home without the bother of driving and finding parking, try the convenient, close to home, Lynn Valley LINK.
Phase 1 of the Lynn Valley LINK, a project initiated by the LVCA, opened in September 2017 using existing trails and streets to circumnavigate the community of Lynn Valley.
Phase 2 of the Lynn Valley LINK was completed in 2019. You might have already noticed the LV LINK logos with arrows that show the routes through Lynn Valley that connect with the perimeter sections of the LV LINK.
The final map showing the connecting LV LINK routes through Lynn Valley is now available on the LVCA website to download as a PDF. (see link at the bottom of this post)
The LV LINK kiosk installed at Pioneer Park in the heart of Lynn Valley at the corner of Mountain Highway and Lynn Valley Road features the map and is accessible to all at this location. Each kiosk along the LV LINK showcases the LVLINK Route Map and some interesting facts related to the history of Lynn Valley.
At this time one (1) section of the LV LINK is closed. The section that is closed is a portion of the Hastings Creek Trail from 27th Street to where the trail exits south on Hoskins Road. This section has been closed due to soil instability and landslides that threaten the trail. A geotechnical study will take place in 2021 so that safety concerns can be addressed before the trail can be re-opened.
As most will know, the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge was closed because of Covid-19 but now is open to be able to access the other side.
Consult the LV LINK map to choose an alternate route to overcome these and any other closures that may occur. Enjoy your walk!

We have a record number of “You + One” Sponsors – companies/people who have purchased an additional tree to be gifted to a school or not for profit organization, and a small but dedicated group of volunteers that with “many hands make light work”. Watch our facebook page as we recognize their efforts in the coming weeks. Remember to LIKE our page while you’re there. *smile*
